General

Exam results day can be a time of anxiety for both parents and children. We've put together some tips to help support your child whatever the outcome.

1. Talk to your child about their expectations

What are they hoping to achieve in their exams? What are their goals for the future? Let them know that you're there to support them, no matter what the outcome.

2. Remind your child of their strengths

What are they good at? What do they enjoy learning about? Remind them of all the hard work they've put in.

Reassure them that their grades are just one measure of their success.

3. Celebrate their achievements, no matter what

Even if your child doesn't get the grades they were hoping for, they still deserve to be proud of themselves for their hard work.

4. Offer your support

If your child is disappointed with their results, offer them your support. Let them know that you're there for them, and that you'll help them figure out what they want to do next. Reassure them that their grades don't define them, and that they have many options available to them.
